Virginia L. Adams

A funeral service celebrating the life of Virginia L. Adams, 90, of Thornville, will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor William Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 56 S. Main Street, Thornville, on Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Virginia was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 7, 1931 to the late Forrest and Lucille (Langbein) Hartley. She passed away at the Pickering House on May 7, 2022. Prior to retirement, she was a secretary with Lucent Technologies and AT&T. She was a charter member of Rosehill Church of Christ, where she was the organist and pianist for many years. She was also a member of the Thornville Amvets, Post 51 ladies auxiliary. Most important in her life, was the time she spent with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Lee Ellis and Sharon Anderson; grandchildren, Cathyjo (Kevin) Field, Joseph (Joy) Ellis and Jackie (Zacharie) Davis; honorary granddaughter, Cathy Gunter; two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Cecil S. Adams; and a sister, Dorothy Barber. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Virginia to the Fairhope Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
