A memorial service celebrating the life of Virginia F. Osborne, 100, of Newark, will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Middleton Senior Living, 1500 Weaver Drive, Granville, with Pastor Barb Salyers and Pastor Todd Frail officiating. Virginia was born in Marion, Indiana on February 1, 1922 to the late Alonzo and Ella Mae (Friel) Jones. She passed away at Middleton Senior Living on October 18, 2022. Virginia was a registered nurse, working at Owens-Corning Fiberglas and doctors’ offices over the years. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Newark; PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization), EZ Chapter, Newark; Newark Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association; and a former volunteer at Licking Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed church activities, traveling, exercising, reading and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. She was a fun-loving person, had an uplifting personality, and loved unconditionally. One of Virginia’s core beliefs was, “bloom where you are planted” and she tried to live that every day. Survivors include her niece, Susan (Steve) Litwiller; great nieces, Rebecca (Nathan) Voris and Megan Litwiller; great great nephews, Truman and Simon Voris; other relatives; and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Osborne in 2004; son, James Osborne; grandson, Joseph Osborne; sister and brother-in-law, Phoebe Ann and Ted Bodle Jr.; and brother, Alonzo Jones, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Virginia to First United Methodist Church, 88 North Fifth Street, Newark, Ohio 43055 or to Ohio Living Hospice, 2740 Airport Drive, Suite 140, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
