Virginia Salyer, 95 of Kirkersville, died Saturday, October 8, 2022. She was born July 8, 1927 in Salyersville, KY to the late Walter and Lula Howard. She didn’t believe in the word “can’t” because she believed you could do anything you set your mind to. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, doll collecting and a good yard sale. She was a lifelong Baptist who always believed God was taking care of her. She retired from a 25-year career with the State of Ohio. She is survived by her daughters Judy Salyer (John Norman), Melody Gintert (Sue Ziegler), her grandchildren Kimberly, Rodney, Mica, David, Danielle M, Charlena, Billy (who she raised) and Danielle G., twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Akle, sons, Billy and Bobby and brothers, James Earl, John G. and Paul B. Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia’s memory to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9-11am at the Hoskinson Funeral Home-Kirkersville, where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Beckett officiating. Burial will follow the service in Kirkersville Cemetery. Hoskinson Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored to care for Virginia and her family.
