Vivian L. Castle

Vivian L. Castle, age 92, of Newark, was born in Johannesburg, MI, on December 8, 1923 to the late John and Pauline (Smith) McClees. She passed away on January 24, 2016 at the Price Road Health and Rehab Center in Newark.Vivian graduated from Boyne City High School in Michigan. Prior to retirement, she was a cook at St. Vincent Catholic Charities Childrens Home in Lansing, MI. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar and was an avid reader.Survivors include her children, John (Connie) Castle, Daniel (Robin) Castle and Virginia Bryner; grandchildren, Charlene, John, Amanda, Melissa, Ben, Tim and Jason; and numerous great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William L. Castle in 1960; brothers, Earl, Claude, William, Alvin and Elvin McClees; and sisters, Effie Gold and Jean Sexton.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Vivian to St. Vincent Catholic Charities Childrens Home, 2800 West Willow Street, Lansing, Michigan, 48917.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Vivian and her family.
