Walter Curtis Grubb, age 81, of Heath, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his home. Walter was born December 18, 1935 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky to the late Walter Ivan and Edna Grubb. Walter was a graduate of Newark High School and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas. Walter was a long-time member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark, the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club, Mound City Corvette Club, Newark Lodge #97 F & AM and the Licking County Harriers Club. He enjoyed running marathons, sailing and anything to do with boats. He was especially proud of his six grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shepard (Ryall) Grubb, whom he married June 18, 1971; three children, Gretchen (Thomas) Lechner of Sagamore Hills, Jennifer Coalter of Pataskala and Walter Stewart Grubb of Buckeye Lake; six grandsons, Arthur Cyril Lechner IV, Oliver Thomas Lechner, Luther Stewart Lechner, Hayden Thomas Coalter, Grayson Ryall Coalter and Keegan Joe Coalter; and his beloved dog, Ivan. A private family service will be held at a later date.
