Walter Hockman

A funeral service celebrating the life of Walter Hockman, age 77, of Hebron, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Mears officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Jacksontown Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Walter was born March 19, 1946 in Accident, Maryland to the late Harry Raymond and Leah Rebecca (Warrick) Hockman. Walter passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Walter loved to plant flowers and enjoyed spending time with his cats. He was a generous person and was known to always be helping people, including handing out produce.

He is survived by his sisters, Martha Hughes, Ruth Blycheck, and Alice Long; a brother, John Hockman; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim Thomas, Benny Thomas, Clayton Thomas, and the entire Thomas family who were a great help to Walter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dickie, Junior, Sam and Paul Hockman; and a sister, Mae Lamb.
