He operated Radio Shack and Miller’ Crafts with his in-Laws, Fred and Trudy Keller and wife Pat for many years. He always said he probably sold or fixed every television, radio, or organ in Licking County, if it had a tube he could fix it. He retired in 1984 after a major fall during work. He was a member of the Singing Buckeyes and the Barbershop Harmony Society for over 50 years. He held many positions from President to the Buckeye Invitational coordinator. He sang lead and was awarded many “Men of Notes” and was a “Barbershopper of the Year”. Even though he hasn’t been on the risers for some time, he loved his riser buddies; Mike, Dave, Gary, Andy, Bill, Glenn and many more till the end. He left a legacy of Barbershop singing that will last many generations. Walt was also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for over 60 years and was a member of the choir and a Deacon. He was also an active member of the Hebron Lions Club, serving as President while Pat was also the Treasurer for many years. They were both instrumental and faithful in keeping the Lions Club French fry booth at the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival running for over a decade. He was also a Melvin Jones award recipient. The family would like to thank Victor and Christie for their love and caring support for him in his final year and a half after Pat passed away.
