A memorial service celebrating the life of Wayne Spencer Carman, age 86, of Heath, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Dave Linn and Dave Mason officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Wilson Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Wayne was born June 8, 1930 in Quaker City, Ohio to the late Charles William and Elsie (Watson) Carman. He passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Newark Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center.Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army and faithfully served his country during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas where he had been a machinist. Wayne enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia, camping and boating.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie (McMillen) Carman, whom he married May 5, 1956; sons, David Carman and Douglas Carman, both of Newark; daughter, Debbie (Alan) Bayliss of Zanesville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bingo.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Carman and Homer Carman; and by three sisters, Margaret Rose, Anna Mae Tedrick and Helen Casterline.Memorial contributions may be made to the Heath Church of Christ, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath, OH 43056 or Greystone Hospice,500 West Wilson Bridge Road, Suite 314, Worthington, OH 43085.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Wayne and his family.
