William Bernard "Bill" Lapaugh

A funeral service celebrating the life of William Bernard Bill LaPaugh, age 65, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, with Pastor Mary Francis Stevenson officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Bill was born March 21, 1949 in Warren, Ohio to the late Paul G. and Charlotte (Seward) LaPaugh. He passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the home of his daughter in Upper Arlington. Bill was a 1967 graduate of South High School in Columbus where he played football. He retired from R.R. Donnelley where he had been a printing press operator. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Bill faithfully served his country during the Vietnam era. An avid fisherman, Bill also enjoyed traveling and camping. He was a fan of the OSU Buckeyes.He is survived by his wife, Marjorie R. Margie (Blake) LaPaugh; two children, Chantele (Carol) Parker of Columbus and Erica (Dwight Braxton) Frankenbery of Upper Arlington; grandchildren, Tynesha (Tim) Collier, Amelia Bruton, Jamimah Bruton, Ryne Frankenbery and Rhealyn Frankenbery; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Carl) Martin and Bernice Cummings; brothers, Paul (Tracy) LaPaugh and Michael LaPaugh; mother-in-law, Mattie Blake; brothers-in-law, Roger (Lucinda) Blake and Ronald (Michelle) Blake; sisters-in-law, Desiree Blake and Romy Blake; a special niece, Jerrica Blake, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Howell and Paula Cunningham.Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, OH 43058.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the LaPaugh family.
