View Bill's Tribute Video A funeral service celebrating the life of William L. “Bill” Barnes, 67, of Newark, will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Ron Hall officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., where a Masonic service will be held at 5:45 p.m. Bill was born in Newark, Ohio on April 25, 1954 to the late Ralph and Bonnie (Starett) Barnes. He passed away on October 22, 2021 at Altercare Newark North. Bill was a member of Central Christian Church; was a Master Mason with the Newark Masonic Lodge # 97; and the Newark Eagles # 387. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends, especially doting on his grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Ericka (Chris) Haines and Tyler (Jeannette) Barnes; brother, Walter (Barbara) Barnes; grandchildren, Xavier, Kolebyn, Heith and Ayden Barnes; sister-in-law, Nola Barnes; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Barnes. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bill to Hospice of Central Ohio.
