A funeral service, to celebrate the life of William Bill Marple, age 91, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Dave Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Bill was born in Zanesville, Ohio on December 30, 1922 to the late Benjamin W. Marple and Creta (Minger) Randals. He passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on April 9, 2014. Prior to retirement, he was a truck driver with B & L Transportation and RISS International. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors include his three children, William (Barb) Marple of West Allis, WI, Diana Sue Young of Reynoldsburg, and Bruce Marple of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, David (Fredda) Miracle, Brian Young, Christina (Joe) Furbee, Craig (Amy) Young, Jon E. (Desiree) Marple and Jon L. Marple; special friend, Debbie Marple; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (Shrigley) Marple in 1988; one sister, Geraldine Peterson and her husband Pete Peterson. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
