William R. King of Granville diedMondayevening, November 16, 2015, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center, Newark. He was born March 3, 1937, the oldest child and only son of Samuel Walter and Mary Elizabeth Gesalman King.He attended schools in Oil City, Pa., and was graduated from Oil City Senior High School. He participated in the General Motors College Quiz where he won a full paid scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University.On June 13, 1959 he married Judith D. Etzel, daughter of Earl and Pauline Etzel of Pinoak, Pa. She survives as well as their 3 children Kristen Lisa of Festus, Mo., Steven Andrew of Holland, Ohio and William Ryan of Georgetown, Tx. He is also survived by grandchildren Toni, Pauline, Caleb, Tiffany, Ryan and Samantha, along with great granddaughters Ziva and Abgail McLain; his sisters Nancy (David) McLaughlin, Helen (Gary) Howell along with several nieces and nephews.In 1980 upon moving to Toledo, he became interested in glass blowing. He studied and learned to produce beautiful glass works of art. He derived great pleasure from his hobby in his little shop and pushed himself to create innovative new designs.Friends may call from10:00 a.m.until time of the memorial services celebrating his life at11:00 a.m.,Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Outville Presbyterian Church, 6463 Outville Rd.
