A funeral service, celebrating the life of William T. Hines, Jr., 91, of Thornville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday March 10, 2017, in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main Street, Thornville, with Pastor Jeremy Shank as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.Bill died peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017 in Newark, following a brief illness. He was born in Quinwood, West Virginia, on July 2, 1925, the son of the late William T. and Pauline Ann (Crane) Hines.He served honorably in the U.S. Marine reserves during WWII. He worked for over thirty years at Rockwell International, Heath. He was an active member of Union Local #1037, as well as the Thornville Lions Club. Bill was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Arlene (Callison) Hines; children Marilyn (Mike) Fehrman, Donna (Dave) Boring, both of Thornville; Larry (Sandra) Hines of Hedgesville, West Virginia; grandchildren Tami (Don) Loughman, Todd Boring, Ben (Kathy) Koehler, Zach and Travis Hines; sisters Phyllis Ann (Dave) Green of Gosport, Indiana, Bunny (Nick) Lewis of Summersville, West Virginia; sisters-in-law Bernice Carter and Vivian (Wilbur) Gwinn; great grandchildren Ashley and Gunner Loughman, Olivia and Ella Koehler; along with several nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to the Lions Eye Research Foundation C/O Larry Roberts, 11586 Zartman Rd N.W., Thornville, Ohio 43076.HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, Thornville, is honored to care for Bill and the Hines Family.
