A funeral service celebrating the life of William L. Weaver, age 90, of Heath, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Conley officiating. Private burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.
William was born October 5, 1928 in Newark, Ohio. He passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at The Laurels of Heath.
William had been employed with Schuler Engineering for over 30 years and his last position there was plant manager. He left Schuler and became the owner of Bill’s Village Tavern and Cabins in Buckeye Lake, from which he retired. Bill enjoyed league bowling, boating on Buckeye Lake and was an avid OSU Buckeyes fan. He was a former president of the Heath Sertoma Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra S. Ludwig of Newark; son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Barb Weaver of Thornville; six grandchildren, Tamara Craig, Sherry (Dave) Day, Billie (Albert) Johnson, Johnny (Chrissie) Johnson II, Kristi Swick and Kim Bussey; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; half brothers, Ronnie, Lonnie and Tyger Duvall; and many nieces, nephews, an aunt and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Douglas V. Weaver; mother and step-father, Eva Juanita (Gartner) and Reid Couch; brother, Charles “Chuck” Weaver; sisters, Patty Moore and Dalma Hitchcock; great-grandson, Donald “Buzzy” Newell III; great-great-granddaughter, Camila Chapa Resendiz; and son-in-law, Howard “Gib” Ludwig, Sr.
