Wilma Jean Hughes

A funeral service celebrating the life of Wilma Jean Hughes, age 74, of Newark, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Jean was born July 27, 1944 in Newark, Ohio to the late Everett Clark and Lucy Marie (Whyde) Bennett. She passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 25, 2019 at her home.

Jean was employed with Pizza Hut in Heath for 30 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo and camping.

She is survived by four children, Keith (Daneen) Hughes of Heath, Cliff (Kris) Hughes of South Carolina, Lucy Hughes of Heath and Bobby (Rhonda) Hughes of Newark; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Judy Green of Idaho; one niece and one nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hughes, on March 31, 2012.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
