A memorial gathering celebrating the life of Woodrow M. Woody Horn, age 61, of Newark, will be held from 6-10 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, at the Druids, 19 Harrison Street in Newark where the Licking County Veterans Alliance will observe military honors at 7 p.m.Woody was born January 3, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John William and Mabel Pauline (Cox) Horn. He passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital.Woody was a 1973 graduate of Johnstown High School and served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He was an IPM Operator at Owens Corning Fiberglas and was formerly employed by Walker Mfg. Woody was a member of the Druids and the Heath Eagles. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and the OSU Buckeyes as well as any Ohio sports team.He is survived by his daughter, Janine Horn of Newark; grandchildren, Mariah Horn (Lauren Potts), Megan (Kevin) Woodruff, Makala Deeds and Maranda, Marissa, Julia Madison, Ashton and Timmy; brothers, William Horn and Douglas R. Horn, both of Johnstown; and a sister, Cynthia Horn Trusler of Newark; many nieces and nephews; and good friend, John Carr of Newark.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Horn; and a brother, John Horn.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Woody and his family.
