Zelma May (Hupp) Brown, 93 of Thornville, passed away August 21, 2023. Until she could no longer dwell independently, Zelma lived, worshipped, worked (BancOhio and County Savings), volunteered, and shared her friendship, gifts and talents with many friends and neighbors, organizations and groups in Thornville and Perry County.

From a family of 9 siblings, Zelma is survived only by one sister and brother-in-law Ruth (Jerry) Smith, and sister-in-law Barbara (Jones) Hupp, along with many nieces and nephews.

Zelma was also preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Brown, daughter Christina Brown Underwood, son Darrell Brown, sons-in-law Alan Underwood and Jeff Mathews, and great granddaughters Cody Kling and Zelma Palmer.

Zelma was a wonderful grandmother to 14 grandchildren: Amber and Ben Underwood, Kim Rodgers, Rhonda Rodgers (Jeff) Wells, Kendall Brown (Karl) Clovis, Autumn Brown (Eric) McKillips, Meghan Hill (Steve) Turner, Caitlin Hill (Shaun) Hamm, Jay (Kristin) Hill, Danielle Brown, Ryan (Lindsay) Brown, Scott (Lisa) Brunn, Jennifer Brunn (Blake) Rosell, and Kylie Jenkins (Zach) Harris.  Zelma also was proud to be a great-grandmother to 22 and great-great-grandmother to nine.
