Zeraline K. "Mickey" Hoffer

A funeral service celebrating the life of Zeraline K. “Mickey” Hoffer, age 97, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Burdick officiating. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks must be worn inside the funeral home. For your protection, a maximum of 50 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing.

Mickey was born August 7, 1923 in Newark, Ohio to the late Carl S. and Sarah (Clark) Brown. She passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her home. Mickey was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards (especially Euchre, Poker and Rummy) and also enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a former member of the Druids, the Moose and the Eagles.

She is survived by her children, Linda Mae Adams of Etna, Mary Leota Trapp Windle of Baltimore, Polly Ann (Larry) Jenkins of Pataskala, Terry Sue Peck, David Duane (Jeanette) Hoffer, Rodney Robert (Debbie) Hoffer and Robert Oren Hoffer, Jr., all of Newark; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Oren Hoffer, on February 18, 1969; two sons, Carl Robert Hoffer and Richard Lee Hoffer; sons-in-law, Russ Adams and Leland Peck; as well as several brothers and sisters.
