Connie Marlene Wright

Connie Marlene Wright, age 84, of Newark, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at The Inn at Chapel Grove in Heath. Connie was born April 24, 1939 in Newark, Ohio to the late Robert Franklyn Myers and the late Melda Virginia (Anderson) Myers.

Connie was a 1957 graduate of Newark High School along with her grade school sweetheart, Jimmy A. Wright. They were married June 23, 1969 and shared seven children combined.

Connie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed activities such as housekeeping, gardening, traveling, and for many years also enjoyed various groups like “The Newark Vibrators”.

She is survived by five daughters and one son: Christine (Brad) Jones, Connie S. Wright, Tamara Schmitt, Catherine (Brad) Byrd, Jimmy (Cindy) Wright, and Linnette (Fred) Clark; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Patty Ronan and Hilda Wright; brothers-in-law, Chuck Gregg and Walter Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wright, on June 4, 2023; daughter, Louanne Dorne; sister, Carol Montgomery; infant brother, Robert “Bobby” Myers; son-in-law, Rick Schmitt; brothers-in-law, Bill Wright, Jack (Pat) Wright, Bill Wright, and Jim Ronan; and sisters-in-law, Jean Gregg and Dottie Thompson.

At her request, no service will be observed.
