Gloria Bailey

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Gloria Celestine Judy Bailey, 88, of Lancaster, formerly of Pickerington, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.Gloria died early Friday morning, September 18, 2015, in Lancaster following an extended illness. She was born in Licking County, on August 31, 1927, the daughter of the late Allen and Laura (Tatman) Brown. She worked for many years in the JC Penney Distribution Center in Columbus, and enjoyed line dancing at the Reynoldsburg Senior Center. She was a Methodist by faith.She is survived by her daughters Shirley Allen of Lancaster, Nancy (Ben) Cydrus of Chillicothe, sister Lola Abernathy of Pasadena, Ca., brother Walter Bill Brown of Johnstown, 2 grandchildren Jim (Kelly) Allen and Krissy (James Lawwell) Silverman, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 2005, her son Ernest, and her siblings Anna Mary Strahm, Edward Brown, John Jack Brown and Paul Brown.The family will receive friends on Monday evening, September 21, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main St in Kirkersville.
