A funeral service celebrating the life of James “Jim” L. Pasco, 81, of Newark, will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Anthony Payton officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery, with Military honors observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Family and friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Thursday, two hours prior to the funeral service, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Jim was born on January 15, 1938 in Smithfield, Ohio to the late James L. Sr. and Juanita (Anderson) Pasco. He passed away on January 21, 2019 at his residence. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Prior to retirement, he worked as an instrument technician at the Newark Air Force Base for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing ping-pong, playing cards and cooking. He helped coach Kiwanis girls softball, was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and had a loving and ornery personality. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Survivors include his loving wife, Ruby F. (Dodrill) Baker; children, Melody (Pat) Bythrow, Kimberly Pasco, Jamie (Bill) Gerhart and Paul Baker; brother, Jack L. (Judy) Pasco; sisters, Sue Ellen Case and Jeanette (Lowell) Fair; special granddaughter, Harmony; life-long best friends, the Larry Greene family; and 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Amy and Cary; and an infant brother and infant sister. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jim to Generation Hospice.
