Mary Katherine (Shook) Loudermilk

September 20, 1954 — August 9, 2023

On Wednesday August 9, 2023, Mary Katherine (Shook) Loudermilk, loving wife, mother, Grammy, sister and friend passed away at the age of 68. Mary was born on September 20, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio to the Robert and Betty Jo Shook. On April 1, 1975 she was married to Clif Loudermilk. Early in their marriage Mary worked as an independent care provider in the foster system and with the Ohio Department of Disabilities. During this time and beyond she provided hours of care and kindness to countless individuals making differences in their lives. They later had two children of their own as well as taking in Mary’s youngest sister, Heather. Mary had the most generous, compassionate and giving heart. She was always willing to give even when she had her own struggles. Her energy had the ability to lighten any room. Not to mention a laugh and sense of humor that was contagious. If you know Mary, she was also feisty and always thinking a step ahead of you but would give you the clothes off her own back. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Jo (Himes) Shook. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Clif Loudermilk; and their children, Heath (Julie) Loudermilk and Laura (Matt) Mohler; her brother, Bob (Dana) Shook; sisters, Debbie (Michael) Steele and Sister Heather (Sean) Ferrin; grandchildren, Troy Loudermilk, Leah (Bryan) Coonley, Elijah Falkowsky, David Mohler, Tristen Mohler, Morgan Mohler, Ryleigh Mohler, Emily Wallace; great grandchildren, Warren Willis and Connor Coonley; niece, Emma Shook; nephew, Jake Shook; and countless extended family and close friends that have gathered for weeks in support of her.
