Rick Hoskinson is a native of Licking County, a graduate of West Muskingum High School, Ohio State University, Capital University and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is a member of St James Episcopal Church, Zanesville, and supports Kirkersville United Methodist Church. He is a member and Past Master (1996) of Jackson Lodge #85, F.& A.M. at Brownsville, where he is a third generation member. He is a dual member and Past Master (2011) of Hebron Masonic Lodge #116. Rick has been active in the Order of Eastern Star, where he has served as Worthy Patron for several Chapters beginning in 1989 at Bucyrus #3, then again at his home chapter at Brownsville (#486) five times. He is also a dual member in Eastern Star at Thornville Chapter #176. He is a former Trustee of the Ohio Eastern Star Home 2008-2011, and currently serves as a trustee of the Charitable foundation of the Grand Chapter of Ohio. Rick is also an active breeder and exhibitor of pedigreed cats: and serves as a International Allbreed judge of cat shows for the International Cat Association (TICA). He also belongs to the Hebron Lions club, has served the club as Treasurer and Vice President and enjoys spending time every August Frying French Fries at the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival! Rick is a former member of the Eagles at Buckeye Lake, where he served as conductor for several years. He is a past president of the Buckeye Lake area Chamber of Commerce, and the Hebron Business Association. Rick has also served his profession as a committee member for the Ohio Funeral Directors association, Education committee 2007-2012. He served as the President of District #13, Ohio Funeral Directors Association in 2013-2015.
Jon Wagner has been a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for nearly 36 years. A graduate of Galion High School and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he has lived in Newark and has worked at the funeral home since 1995. He is an active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Newark, where he serves on the cemetery board. Jon is a school board member of Par Excellence Academy; volunteer at the Midland Theatre; past-president and member of the Newark Lion’s Club; member of Newark-Heath Rotary Club; Knights of Columbus, Father Bill Johnson Council; Ohio Funeral Directors Association; and the National Funeral Directors Association. Jon and his wife, Lynda, have been married since 1984 and are the proud parents of four children, Devin (Lane), Jonathan (Jennifer), Madison (Hunter) and Gretchen, and five grandchildren, Rylie, Noah, Cecilia, Stella and Henry. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, motorcycling, working in his yard and snow skiing.
Greta Blegvad has been a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Licking County for 35 years. Greta grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and later Northern Wisconsin. She and her husband, Jens, a native of the country of Denmark, married in 1988. Greta is a graduate of Xavier University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. She is an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark where she serves as vice president on the church council and in many other capacities. She is also Registrar for the Granville Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, is a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. Greta is also a member of the Granville Historical Society and serves as a trustee on the board of Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville. Greta and her husband are the proud parents of a daughter, Emily, and her husband, Heath.
Ethan McKee has been a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Licking County for over 25 years. A native of Hanover, Ethan is a 1991 graduate of Licking Valley High School, attended The Ohio State University and is a 1995 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is an active member of Hanover Presbyterian Church where he serves as the Director of Music and Financial Secretary. He is also a member of the Licking Valley Lions Club. Ethan lives in Heath with his wife, Jennifer.
Ray Orr joined the Hoskinson Funeral Home staff in mid-June 2019. He was formerly a staff Funeral Director at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home in Newark. Prior to that, Ray owned and operated the Vensil-Orr Funeral Homes in Dresden and Frazeysburg, Ohio.
Ray and his wife, Lois (Palmer) Orr, live in Newark. They are active members of the Heath Church of Christ.
Mark W. Pinnick, is from the Detroit area and moved to Columbus after high school to attend Capital University where he studied Church Music/Organ and German. He also studied abroad in Heidelberg, Germany. He attended Trinity Lutheran Seminary earning his Master of Arts Degree in Church Music and Theology.
He has been a Lutheran church musician for over 36 years. He served as chapel organist at Bexley Hall Episcopal Seminary for 16 years. He is currently the Cantor (Director of Music) at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Zanesville, Ohio. He has performed many concerts in Central Ohio through the years. He was President of Cantor Connection, a local chapter of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, where he has been a presenter/speaker at workshops on the local and national level.
Mark is a member and Past Master of Jackson Lodge #85 F. & A.M. and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #486 at Brownsville, Ohio.
He is the Past-President of the Germania Singing and Sport Society in Columbus, the Choral Director of the Männerchor and Damenchor and the Director of the Mendelssohn Liedertafel in Columbus. He has served on the board of the Zentral Ohio Sängerbezirk and the United German Singing Societies of Central Ohio. Mark loves to travel to Germany and Europe exploring the cultures and fine wines of the world.
Mark has worked with the Hoskinson Funeral Homes since 2006 as a licensed Funeral Director. He primarily focuses on Advance Funeral Planning for our families, giving families peace of mind and comfort that their funerals are planned and funded and relieving their families of anxiety and stress at the time of their death.
He also is the crematory manager at West Licking Crematory, which is owned and operated by Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, located at our Kirkersville Chapel.
Marcia Carpenter, an Administrative Assistant, has worked in the funeral business since 1999, beginning with the Boring-Sheridan Funeral Homes.
She is originally from Baltimore and was a 1971 graduate of Liberty Union High School. After marrying her husband Tim in 1975, Perry County has been her home ever since. She enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She is the proud mother to Jason, Joe, Jeff (Teresa), Jessica (Travis), and Jared (Karissa). She has eight wonderful grandkids that her world revolves around: Tyson (who is in the Army National Guard), Parker, Hoyt, Nova, Gunnar, Lillian, Rylee and Elaina.
Marcia is a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, Thornville American Legion #342Auxiliary, Amvets Post #51 Auxiliary, the Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge #2068, and the Millersport Lions Club.
Emily Blegvad-Monroe has been employed with Hoskinson Funeral Homes as an Administrative Assistant since 2012. She is a graduate of Granville High School and The Ohio State University. She is a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark and is the Chaplain of the Granville Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Emily also does freelance work in film editing and drone video and photography. She and her husband, Heath, live in Westerville.
Ruth Gehring joined the staff of Hoskinson Funeral Homes in March of 2023. She lives in Heath with her husband, Rev. Martin Gehring (pastor at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark).
